What is "Diet Culture" you ask? Diet culture can be described in so many ways, because it exists in so many forms. It's a photo-shopped influencer telling you to buy their products, it's a 28 day juicing cleanse to "banish your belly", it's magazines telling you to get swimsuit ready, it's brands labeling food as healthy or bad. It's society creating total bullsh*t standards that we've thought we need to stay in line with. Diet culture is total poison to true growth and only continues the vicious cycle.

But as simple as it was, it was absolutely essential. We shared this meal with locals again and again. No forks. Just hands. Balled up rice and vegetables. No worries.  But you were full, and it was cheap. We would eat it for breakfast, and be good for hours. We could and would eat it every day. It was reliable, and we were thankful.
